I wanted to let
others know just how amazing my sight is now that I have undergone laser
surgery. Being farsighted, my close up vision was awful and as I got older
my distance vision was diminishing too.
I needed to wear
glasses or contact lenses almost constantly. The first thing I would do
every morning when I woke up was to put on my glasses because I couldn’t
even read the time on the digital clock. I couldn’t drive, read, shop (because
I couldn’t read prices or labels) or work without some kind of vision correction.
Swimming was a real challenge. I needed one pair of glasses in case I was
going to be inside, sunglasses for the sun and I still couldn’t see when
I was in the water (if I wore contacts, there was always the possibility
of them floating out). I really disliked being that
dependent on glasses I could misplace or contacts that were a hassle to
keep clean and could irritate my eyes.
When I first heard
that they were now doing laser surgery for farsighted people, I decided
to consult Dr. Nesburn to see what it entailed and if I would be a good
candidate. He and his staff explained that the procedure itself would take
only a few minutes with little risk, that there would be some discomfort
while the eye was healing and that, thankfully, I was a good candidate.
I had surgery on
my left eye almost a year ago with great results and couldn’t wait to do
the right eye. Well, six months ago that wait ended and now I can do just
about everything without glasses or contacts. I wake up in the morning
and can see immediately. I can honestly say that having laser surgery is
one of the best things I have ever done for myself and would highly recommend
it to anyone who dislikes wearing glasses or contacts.
Sincerely,
Barbara Gare

Before PRK I would
get lost in my own house without glasses. After PRK
I have better than 20/20 vision. I’m no longer lost. Thanks
for helping me see better.
Sincerely yours,

I've been wearing contacts for 18 years. That is, until
this year...... When I first considered corrective eye surgery about 3
years ago, I frankly was just getting tired of the contact lens "routine"
every night and every morning. I play a lot of sports, so glasses were
hard to make work on a daily basis. Then there was the occasional but persistent
"eye headaches".
I made an appointment with Dr. Tony Nesburn, whose reputation
in corrective surgery is well-known in Los Angeles. Dr. Nesburn first determined
whether or not I was a candidate for surgery. At the time, RK was very
common, but the use of the laser was a new option. Well, after determining
that I was a good candidate for the laser procedure and then recommending
it, Dr. Nesburn told me........believe it or not........to wait! He indicated
that in another year or so all the data from the new laser procedure would
be available. It is this kind of cautious professionalism that Dr. Nesburn,
and the American Eye Institute, represents.
Well, I waited just over 2 years, and I cannot express
enough my pleasure with the results of the laser procedure. The actual
procedure takes just a few minutes, and there was minimal discomfort afterwards.
I did it on a Friday, and was back to work Tuesday (Monday was a holiday).
I CAN WAKE UP AND SEE THE CLOCK!!
I CAN GO TO SLEEP WATCHING THE TV!! NO MORE DROPS, CLEANERS, OR SOLUTIONS!!
Frankly, I have been recommending the procedure, and
Dr. Nesburn, to anyone who will listen. About six months after the procedure,
my vision in both eyes is close to 20/20. But more importantly, I have
already forgotten what it was like to wear glasses or contacts, and for
that, Dr. Nesburn, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

After 18 years of
wearing contact lenses, I made the decision to have laser eye surgery.
Meeting with Dr. Nesburn made me feel very comfortable and he answered
all my questions. After surgery It was incredible
to see everything so clear and bright. I thank Dr. Nesburn
so much, not only for his expertise but for his kindness and demeanor.
I have recommended many patients to him since then. Thank you Dr.
Nesburn.

I am so excited
I had the laser procedure. In the past, when I played tennis my contacts
would dry my eyes out and if I wore glasses they would fog up. I
am seeing the ball so much better now. I recommend
this procedure to anyone, especially to people who are active.
An additional perk -- it doesn't hurt
Sincerely,
Sally Harris
